Women's Softball European Cup Winners Cup A 2023: day two recap

Four games took place on the second day of the Women's Softball European Cup Winners Cup A, held in the town of Caronno Pertusella, Italy. Home team Caronno is currently leading the standings.

The second day of the Women's Softball European Cup Winners Cup A kicked off with a clash between the Hoboken Pioneers from Belgium and Les Grizzlys de Grenoble from France. The two teams battled valiantly, but Les Grizzlys de Grenoble emerged victorious by a narrow margin, securing an 8-7 victory over the Hoboken Pioneers.

The Sparks Haarlem from the Netherlands faced off against the Wesseling Vermins from Germany. Sparks Haarlem demonstrated their prowess on the field with a 15-4 victory, closing the door to the German comeback with seven runs scored on the last attack.

Tempo Praha from the Czech Republic then took the field against Les Grizzlys de Grenoble. Tempo Praha took home the W with a resounding 9-1 victory.

In the evening game, Caronno from Italy squared off against Sant Boi from Spain. Caronno's performance resulted in a commanding 10-0 victory, securing their place at the top of the standings with an impeccable record of three wins and no losses.

The Sparks Haarlem from the Netherlands maintained a strong presence in the standings with a commendable record of 2-0, closely trailing the frontrunners. The Hoboken Pioneers from Belgium stood at the third position, boasting a record of 1-1, while Les Grizzlys de Grenoble from France, Sant Boi from Spain, and Tempo Praha from the Czech Republic share the fourth position with records of 1-2. Meanwhile, Wesseling Vermins from Germany is still looking to secure their first victory.

In light of the scorching weather conditions, the WBSC Europe Softball Technical Commissioner, in collaboration with the Local Organizing Committee, rescheduled tomorrow's games to ensure that the games are played during more favorable hours.
