U-18 Women's Softball European Championship: finalists Italy and Czechia qualified for the WBSC World Cup

The U-18 Women's Softball European Championship in Prague, Czechia, witnessed intense matchups to reveal the finalists and set the stage for the medal games. The finalists also qualified for the next expected WBSC World Cup.

The teams battled it out on day six of the U-18 Women's Softball European Championship to secure their places in the ultimate games.

After today's games, the two finalists emerged: Italy and Czechia. Italy, still undefeated throughout the championship, earned a spot in the gold medal game. The home team, Czechia, set the stage for an exciting final showdown.

Both teams qualified for the next expected WBSC World Cup.

The bronze medal match will feature the Netherlands and Ireland. These two teams will vie for the third position on the championship podium, and the third ticket to the WBSC World Cup.

Great Britain claimed the fifth spot, while Ukraine secured the sixth position. The national teams from Hungary, Denmark, Finland, and Slovakia rounded out the rankings at 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th places, respectively.

On Saturday on field 2, Switzerland and Poland will contend for the 15th spot, followed by Sweden and Croatia competing for the 13th position. Belgium and Austria will strive for the 11th spot.

On field 1, Spain and Germany will battle for the 9th spot, while Israel and France will engage in a contest for the seventh position. The climax of the championship will unfold with the highly anticipated medal games, scheduled for 15:30 for the bronze medal match and 18:00 for the gold medal match.

The U-18 Women's Softball European Championship 2023 will be live-streamed on the WBSC Europe YouTube Channel. Additionally, play-by-play will be available on the WBSC Europe website.
