Men's Softball European Championship 2023: day one recap

After one day of games, Czechia, Denmark and France are still undefeated. Four more games will be played on day two to define the next rounds of the Men's Softball European Championship.

The Men's Softball European Championship commenced its inaugural day of games in Hørsholm, Denmark. Eight games were played on day one.

Field 1 witnessed four games with the following results: Spain faced France, concluding with a score of 1-4 (Box Score); Belgium played against Denmark, ending in a tight 0-1 (Box Score) match; Czechia dominated Sweden with a remarkable score of 17-0 (Box Score). On the last scheduled game on Field 1, Denmark topped Slovakia 14-3 (Box Score).

Over on Field 2, the games unfolded as follows: Great Britain challenged Czechia, and the latter achieved a decisive 8-0 victory (Box Score); Germany encountered Croatia, with Croatia emerging victorious with a score of 4-1 (Box Score); France engaged in a hard-fought match against Netherlands, ultimately prevailing with a score of 9-6 (Box Score). Israel won against Croatia, 3-9, in the last game scheduled on field 2 (Box Score).

Tomorrow, the tournament will continue with four additional games that will ultimately determine the standings for the first round robin. The top eight teams will proceed to compete for the title of European Champion in the second round robin, while teams ranked 9-12 will participate in the relegation round.
