21/08/2023
For the first time in the club’s history Roef out of Moergestel, Netherlands, played host to a European Cup: the XVII edition of the Women's Softball European Cup Winners Cup B. The event opened on August 21, 2023.

The Women's Softball European Cup Winners Cup B has an international touch to it as it also plays host to a team from Botswana. The Titans (BOT) kicked off play in the opening game of the tournament against the Challengers from Zürich, Switzerland.

Botswana were up 3-1 after 3 innings but an 8-run 5th inning from Zürich Challengers sealed the 11-6 victory for the Swiss team.

Game 2 of the day saw the host team Roef take on the Barbarians from Great Britain. The Dutch team dominated the game and took home a 13-3 win in 5 innings.

Botswana Titans were looking to bounce back from their early morning loss in game 3 of the day. They played Medvednica Mrki Medvedi from Croatia in a 3-hour-long thriller. Medvednica took a 6-0 early lead but saw the Titans fight their way back into the game and claim victory. 12-7

The Crazy Chicklets from Austria showed their Cup ambitions in the 4th game of the day with an 8-1 victory.

The crowd gathered around the field for the opening ceremony and the last game of the day, when the host Roef! was too strong for Medvednica and won 15-0 in 3 innings.

Highlights of the day:
- Nicky Uytendaal (Roef!) saw a leadoff solo-homerun go over the fence in rightfield in the 3rd inning against Barbarians.
There were 3 inside-the-park-homeruns at display this afternoon:
- Onkokame Tlhakoyakgomo of Botswana Titans was responsible for two. She also scored 5 runs for her team today.
