The Softball Euroleague is a female fastpitch competition played at a cross-border regional level since 2014.
However, the organisers of the Softball Euroleague, along with the WBSC Europe Development Committee, are inviting National Federations and European Clubs from Europe to join the Euroleague.
In the near future, the Central European Softball Euroleague will be implemented the Euroleague concept in different parts of Europe for both women's and men's fastpitch club teams.
The aim of the Softball Euroleague is to build a workable framework for international club competitions in Europe. It is a league for teams:
- who have the desire to play and grow.
- who are looking to increase the number of games for their players.
- who want to add international games to their competition programme at a minimal cost.
Usually, the Softball Euroleague was organised with 3-weekend tournaments for single round-robin and one more as the final tournament. In 2022, the 7th Central Europe Women’s Softball Euroleague was played as a women’s fastpitch competition by seven teams from the Central European countries: Slovakia (2), Croatia (3), and Hungary (2).
"We want to replicate the Euroleague concept in different parts of Europe for both women’s and men’s fastpitch club teams. If we can do this, the Euroleague could play a key role in the development of softball across Europe." said Petra Čizmić Pokrajac, WBSC Europe Development Committe Member.
