The British Softball Federation announced the passing of Christopher Moon. Moon was a softball umpire from 2005 to 2016 and an umpire in chief until 2021.
In 2016 when Moon retired after calling his last game at the Coed Slowpitch European Super Cup, the teams went on the field to provide a spontaneous salute, forming an arch of bats held aloft for his walk from second base back to home plate for the last time.
The European softball community mourns his loss, and WBSC Europe is close to Christopher Moon's family in this tragic moment.
