National Championships: the 2022 Danish Women's and Men's Softball Champions have been crowned

The Odense Giants won the 2022 Danish Women's Softball National League, and the Hørsholm Hurricanes won the 2022 Danish Men's Softball National League.

In the Danish Women's Softball National League, the final was a copy of last year's: the Gadsaxe Diamonds opposed to the Odense Giants.

The two teams were relying on their ace pitchers: Meg Brewer for the Diamonds, and Mathilde Brødsgaard for the Giants.

In the first game of the best-of-three series, the Giants could pull away with a 7-5 win. Some shacky Diamond's defense combined with some clutch hits was enough for the Giants.

The next game was a low-scoring affair, but once again the Giants could take the win and the championship: the Diamonds opened the scoring, but the Giants could pull back and get the 3-2 win.

Meg Brewer was named the best batter of the series, Mathilde Brødsgaard the best pitcher, and German national team player Mara Lagler was named MVP.

For the Giants, the championship was a three-peat, also having won in 2020 and 2021. Diamonds won the silver for the second time in two years, and Amager Vikings picked up the bronze medals.

Previously in August, the Odense Giants took part in the Women's Softball European Cup in Avigliana, Italy, and the Gadsaxe Diamonds in the Women's Softball European Cup Winners Cup B in Evry-Courcouronnes, France.

The Danish Men's Softball Championship Series was once again a battle between long-time rivals: Stenløse Bulls and Hørsholm Hurricanes. The series was a best-of-5 affair.

The first game was a very close and exciting game. The teams exchanged leads several times: with the Hurricanes on top in the 7th, a 2-run home run by Mikkel Nielsen (Stenløse Bulls) tied the game, 6-6. In the tie-breaker, Hørsholm Hurricanes' Oscar Andersen also hit a 2-run home run, which granted the Hurricanes an 8-7 win.

In the second game, the Hurricanes pulled away quickly and could take home a 9-2 victory.

On the home field, the Hurricanes could sweep the Bulls for the championship with a decisive 11-5 win.

Stenløse Bulls won the silver medal, and Gladsaxe Gators took home the bronze medals.

Oscar Andersen won the best hitter award, Valdemar Terkelsen was named best pitcher, and Anders Svane was picked as the MVP of the series.

In the summer of 2022, both the Stenløse Bulls and the Hørsholm Hurricanes took part in the Men's Softball European Super Cup and won respectively the silver and bronze medals.
