National Championships: Princ Blue and Medvednica win gold in the Croatian national softball leagues

The clubs of Princ Blue and Medvednica win the national titles in Croatia respectively in women's softball and men's softball.

Croatian Women's Softball League

The historic club of Princ won another title in 2022 with its Princ Blue team. In 2022, Princ Blue faced Medvednica in a best-of-five championship series.

Princ Blue won three games in a row, dominating the final series. Game one ended with the result of 4-14, game two was a shoutout for the Zagreb team winning 0-11, and the 3-13 of game three secured the win for the Princ Blue for the 2022 Croatian national title.

Princ Blue also took all the individual awards: Ema Vrančić was named the best batter of the series, Michaela Haramina the best pitcher, and Lorena Puškarić was named MVP.

In addition to being the Croatian champions, Princ also won the Croatian Cup and the Zagreb Championship to crown an extremely successful 2022 season.

Back in the 2022 summer, Princ took part in the Women's Softball European Cup in Avigliana, Torino, ranking seventh, and in the Central Europe Women’s Softball Euroleague winning the silver medal. 

Croatian Men's Softball League

In 2022, Medvednica and Span played the men's softball Croatian finals in a best-of-five championship series. 

Although Span had not played in the Croatian finals since 2018, they took game one winning 1-9. Medvenica took game two, 2-7, to tie the series.

Game three was won by Medvednica, 4-1, to take the lead. In game four, Span led until the seventh when Medvednica scored six runs taking the result to 9-5 to win the series and crow Medvednica Croatian national champions.

Damir Mandić was named the best batter of the series, Kristijan Belas was the best pitcher, and Ivan Stojanović was named MVP.

In 2022, Medvednica also took part in the Men's Softball European Super Cup and ranked seventh in the Softball Europe Cup.
