Malaga (Spain) will host the WBSC Europe General Congress on the second weekend of February 2024. The Real Federación Española de Béisbol y Sófbol (Spanish Baseball and Softball Federation) will organise the event.
Malaga is a city located in the Andalusia region in southern Spain.
"We are delighted as it has been more than 20 years since a Congress was held in Spain and happy with the support of local institutions for wanting to bring events to Andalusia. As RFEBS, our goal is to start an expansion project in a land with favorable weather conditions, especially in wintertime, from which the entire European baseball and softball family will be able to benefit in the future, hopefully hosting many activities," said RFEBS President Jesús Lisarri. "Malaga is a top cultural site where the local government is investing heavily in developing infrastructure. There is no doubt that the WBSC Europe Congress will provide the necessary momentum for this development. We are waiting for you with open arms to offer a successful Congress!"
The 2024 Congress will be the seventh since the establishment of the World Baseball Softball Confederation Europe in Paris (France) in 2018. Athens (Greece) then hosted the 2019 Congress, followed by Vilnius (Lithuania) in 2020, Rome (Italy) in 2021, and Ljubljana (Slovenia) in 2022.
Recently, the WBSC Europe Members gathered in Belgrade, Serbia, for the General Congress 2023.
