In the initial three days of the Baseball European Championship 2023, the sixteen participating teams will engage in a round-robin format, divided into four pools:
• Pool A (Ostrava): Spain, Austria, Czech Republic, and Greece
• Pool B (Třebíč): Italy, Sweden, Great Britain, and Hungary
• Pool C (Brno): Netherlands, Ukraine, Croatia, and France
• Pool D (Prague): Israel, Germany, Belgium, and Switzerland
Each team will battle it out against their pool rivals to secure a spot in the knockout stage. The top two teams from each pool will advance to the quarterfinals, set to be held in Brno and Blansko. Teams finishing third and fourth in their respective pools will proceed to the 9-16 round, taking place in Brno and Třebíč.
On September 27th, all the teams will converge on the Brno area, where the tournament's second phase will unfold.
Both the 1-8 round and the 9-16 round will witness head-to-head games, where the victors will move forward in the single-elimination bracket.
The teams that finish in the 14th, 15th, and 16th places in the Championship A-level will face relegation and have to qualify again to play the next Baseball European Championship, scheduled for 2025.
The top games of the Baseball European Championship 2023 will be played on October 1st in Brno. The bronze medal game is scheduled for noon. Then, the grand finale of this tournament, the Eurobaseball championship game, will take place at 18:30, where the two top teams will vie for the title of European champions.
