2nd ESCA Camp - done!

Letter from Craig Montvidas, ESCA Camp Coordinator

Hello ESCA Campers,

Already more than a week has passed since we concluded another ESCA training camp. Now that the dust has settled, and everyone has returned home, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the camp, but most importantly thank those who made it all possible. It all starts with the European Softball Federation and their belief that developing our sport through "high level" instruction for all (coaches and players) remains an intricate part in helping continue to grow Softball in Europe.

Once again Bart van Knegsel and his staff at the Nieuwe Erf in Diessen provided us with a perfect location to house, feed, and transport everyone during last weeks sessions. Thank you Bart! I believe we had a solid foundation of dedicated instructors who willingly shared their knowledge and enthusiasm to all who were involved. Great job Marjolein, Berend, Judith, Mike, Vojtech, Nerissa, and Sierra. Of course those behind the scenes, we too thank you for your contributions (Petra Cizmic, Helena Novotna, Ami Baran, and Eddy van Straelen). Compliments for both Carolien Stadhouders and Saskia Kosterink, our special guest instructors...

Looking back I believe we accomplished our main goal, "getting better together"! It was great seeing how both coaches and players from so many different European countries bonded during the camp week, amazing!!! We will be sending everyone a questionnaire with the goal of getting feedback so that we can continue to make the necessary adjustments in an effort to make the improvements for an even better training camp in 2019. We would be most grateful if all of you take the time to reply to this questionnaire at your earliest convenience.

Finally, thank you players and shadow coaches! Without your attendance and love for the game, there would be no camp. Obviously it was impossible to have met everyone's expectations, hopefully we were able to check off a few of the boxes each of you had. It was extremely rewarding seeing so many players and coaches back for a second time. Now that the 2018 season has concluded, I would like to wish all of you a wonderful 2019 Softball season, filled with many victories, zero injuries, and a whole lot of Softball enjoyment.

"Stay happy and stay healthy"....

Sincere regards, Craig
