Youth Baseball5 European Championship 2024: Record 18 Countries to Compete in Clermont-Ferrand

The Youth Baseball5 European Championship 2024 is set to make history with a record-breaking 18 countries participating in the event. Scheduled to take place from October 29 to November 2, 2024, in Clermont-Ferrand, France, this championship marks the second edition of the event, following the inaugural tournament held in Sofia, Bulgaria, in 2022.

The Youth Baseball5 European Championship 2024 participating countries are Belgium, Bulgaria, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, Great Britain, Germany, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, and Türkiye.

This significant increase from the 14 teams in 2022 demonstrates the growing popularity and development of Baseball5 across Europe. Great Britain, Slovenia, and Poland are making their debut in an official Baseball5 event.

The Youth Baseball5 European Championship 2024 not only offers teams the chance to compete for the prestigious European title but also serves as a crucial qualifier for the WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup in 2025. Success in the World Cup will guarantee teams spots at the Youth Olympic Games in 2026.

Host and defending champion France enters the tournament as the favorite, boasting a strong team and currently leading the WBSC World Ranking with 3037 points. However, teams like Lithuania and Türkiye are expected to provide tough competition.

In the inaugural edition of the championship, France clinched the title of European Champion and, together with Türkiye, secured a ticket to the first-ever WBSC Youth World Cup.
