U-15 Women's Softball European Championship 2024: schedule and competition format revealed

WBSC Europe announced the schedule for the upcoming U-15 Women's Softball European Championship, set to take place in Prague, Czech Republic, from July 1st to July 6th, 2024.

The U-15 Women's Softball European Championship will feature 13 teams competing in 41 games at the renowned Svoboda Park, which has been home to numerous international events, including the WBSC Men's World Cup in 2019.

The 13 participating teams have been divided into four groups as follows:

  • Group A: Austria, Poland, Spain  
  • Group B: Belgium, Great Britain, Israel, Turkey  
  • Group X: CzechiaGermanyUkraine  
  • Group Y: Croatia, Italy, Netherlands

The playing system will see the top 6 teams from the previous championship play in groups C and D and automatically qualify for the second phase of the event. The 6 teams will be joined by the winners of groups A and B in semifinal pools X and Y. 

In the two semifinal pools, the teams will play a single round-robin in groups X (1, 4, 5 and A1) and Y (2, 3, 6 and B1). 

The tournament will continue with a Super Round (Round Z with X1, X2, Y1 and Y2), ultimately culminating in the Gold Medal Game and Bronze Medal Game to determine the final standings.

The teams not advancing will compete in the Placement Rounds.

The opening ceremony of the U-15 Women's Softball European Championship 2024 will take place on field 1 at 19:30 on Monday, July 1st.

In 2022, the Czech national team won the title of European Champion in the U-15 Women's Softball category in Enschede, Netherlands.
