Over 250 youth players from five European countries played the Prague International Softball Cup U13

The first weekend of September was full of youth softball at the SK Joudrs Prague and SaBaT Prague venues. 17 teams representing 5 countries met at the Prague International Softball Cup U13: Czech Republic, Croatia, Italy, Germany, and Austria.

Over 250 players played 52 matches on 4 fields, a total of 22 referees, and 30 volunteers took part in the organization during the 3 days of the Prague International Softball Cup U13, and the scorers scored 642 runs.

After the round robin, teams were divided into the Golden Cup, to which the first two teams from each group always advanced, and the Silver Cup, which the other teams played.

The Golden Cup on the Joudrs field brought very competitive matches, where games were decided often in the last 6th inning, or even in a tie-break. In the end, the team Bollate Softball (ITA), and the home team Joudrs (CZE) made it to the finals. The gold went to Italy after a strong performance by Bollate Softball. The silver and bronze medals stayed in the Czech Republic and were taken by the Super League teams Joudrs Praha and Beavers Chomutov.

There was also some amazing softball in the Silver Cup at the SaBaT Fields. The Stars Ronchi team from Italy competed for the medal, with two Super League teams and with them a selection from West Bohemia. In the final game between Italy and Tempo Prague, the Italians managed to win by one run and thus get the most valuable trophy from the Silver Cup. After a great fight, Tempo won the silver, and Arrows Ostrava took 3rd place.

The inaugural edition of the Prague International Softball Cup U13 took place in a wonderful atmosphere thanks to the perfect weather and the dedicated work of the organizing team. The softball community is looking forward to the next edition of the Prague International Softball Cup U13, which will take place on August 22 - 25, 2024.
