Men's Slowpitch European Championship 2024 cancelled due to a lack of bids for hosting

It is with regret that WBSC Europe announced the cancellation of the Men's Slowpitch European Championship 2024.

Despite the entries of six nations - Great Britain, Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, Belgium, and Italy - no bids were received to host the Men's Slowpitch European Championship 2024. Following article 1.6.1. of the Technical Regulations, if no Bid to host a European Competition is received by the start of the Softball Commission meeting prior to the Annual General Congress (…), the Competition shall be cancelled for the current year.

The Men's Slowpitch European Championship has seen two editions in its history. The inaugural event took place in 2018 in Choceň, Czech Republic, with the participation of seven teams. The second edition was held in Colorno, Italy, in 2022, with five teams competing.

Despite this setback, the slowpitch community can still look forward to the Coed Slowpitch European Championship, scheduled to take place in Pardubice, Czech Republic, from July 15 to 20.
