Hailing from Belgium, Reinenbergh's significant contributions to the sport left an indelible mark on the European Softball Federation (ESF).
Jacques Reinenbergh was honored with induction into the ESF Hall of Fame in 2003. The induction in the category of Administrator took place at the Congress held in Krakow, Poland.
Reinenbergh's dedication to advancing the administrative aspects of the sport played a pivotal role in shaping the development of softball in the European continent in the 80s and 90s.
Active in the sport for over 30 years, he played in the first men's softball game in Belgium in the 1970s. In 1982, he was a delegate of the Belgian Women's Softball national team at the ISF World Championship in Taipei.
He served in the Technical Committee of the ESF for over 20 years, and, in 1996, he was a TC member when softball made its Olympic debut.
His impact extended beyond the European stage, as Reinenbergh earned a place in the WBSC Hall of Fame in 2007. He was the second person from Belgium to be elected in the WBSC Hall of Fame.
Expressing his condolences, Gabriel Waage, the Softball Vice President of WBSC Europe, emphasized the significance of Reinenbergh's work. Waage acknowledged Reinenbergh's instrumental role in establishing the foundation for European competitions and expressed pride in continuing his legacy.
