Friuli Venezia Giulia to host Group C of the WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup

After the first two groups of the WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup in Fingal-Dublin, Ireland, and Valencia, Spain, Group C is set to start in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy.

Three Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games participants highlight the XVII Women's Softball World Cup Group C, which opens on 22 July in Buttio and Castions di Strada, Italy.

Group C sees world No. 2 and Olympic champions Japan, No. 5 Canada, No. 8 Italy, No. 22 Venezuela, No. 26 Philippines and No. 29 New Zealand in action from 22-26 July.

The top two teams of the group will “punch a ticket” to the Finals next year. Italy, as the organizer of the World Championship stage in 2024, wouldn't need to qualify for the Final Stage

The reigning Olympic champions and world No. 2 Japan will open at 14:00 against No. 29 New Zealand. Two more games are scheduled on Day 1.
