England wins the 24th annual British Softball Federation Softball World Series 2023

Sixteen teams representing nations, continents, or regions from across the globe descended on the National Baseball & Softball Complex at Farnham Park on the weekend of 9-10 September for the 24th running of the British Softball Federation’s annual Softball World Series.

The British Softball Federation Softball World Series 2023, the annual BSF slowpitch tournament, once again brought together a diverse array of talent and heritage in the world of softball.

Held at Farnham Park, this tournament has been a cherished tradition since its inception in 1999, showcasing the incredible passion for the sport among UK-based expats and European teams.

This year's event featured a record-breaking 16 teams.

The participant roster was a testament to the international appeal of this tournament. National teams from Ireland, Guernsey, and Belgium joined forces with the German club team UCE Travellers and twelve British teams: England, GB Masters, and GB Futures, ex-pat teams from Africa, South Africa, the United States, Canada, Latin America, Japan, Australia/New Zealand, and the Misfits, comprised of players from various European countries, contributed to the global atmosphere.

A heartfelt tribute was paid to the late Chris Moon, a longtime umpire and British Softball and WBSC Europe Hall of Famer.

With more than 30 different nationalities represented across the 16 teams, the Softball World Series 2023 concluded the summer of slowpitch in Britain. The weekend witnessed the execution of 68 games.

In the end, it was Team England that emerged victorious, clinching the championship title by defeating GB Futures with a final score of 16-10.

Results and further information about the tournament can be found on the British Softball Federation website.
