Hi! Please allow me this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Craig Montvidas, I am an American citizen residing in the Netherlands for the past thirty-plus years. I am the former Head Coach of the Netherlands National Team and the now-defunct Pennsylvania Rebellion of the National Pro Fastpitch League, USA.
At present, I am serving as an advisor and camp coordinator for the WBSC Europe in an effort to elevate the standard of coaching within Europe. I am also a member of the World Baseball and Softball Confederation (WBSC) serving as a coach commission member, directly involved with coach and player development.
Having coached both a National team as well as a professional team has been extremely rewarding and an honor, I am proud to have achieved.
HIGHLIGHTS of my coaching career include the following:
- Five National Club Championships -1985 - 1987 - 1994 (Netherlands) - 2018 - 2019 (Italy).
- Three European Club Championships -1987 - 1994 - (Netherlands) and 2018 (Italy).
- Three consecutive European Championships with the Netherlands National team-2009-2011-2013 - bi-yearly tournaments
- Clinic speaker in America, Europe, Africa, Asia, as well as Australia and New Zealand.
- National Fastpitch Coaches Association member since 1994-(3 1/2 Star Master Coaching diploma)
- Assisting players throughout Europe with their dream of attending a University in the USA.
After graduating from the University of Hartford (USA), I set out for what was supposed to be a one-year journey playing Baseball in the Netherlands. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined how my life would turn out. I have been blessed with a wonderful wife, and two fantastic sons, and have always been healthy. All this, plus the fact that I have been able to earn a living in the field of sports where my passion exists!
As a coach, I have touched the lives of many young athletes. These include professionals, Olympians, national team players, and team "stars", ranging from the top athlete in the team to the last player on the bench, filling a role.
As EBSCA training camp coordinator, I am responsible for the daily training program. Coaches and players, I look forward to making your acquaintance on the 18th of October in Diessen. This will be our 6th camp and our camp motto remains the same, "GETTING BETTER TOGETHER".
