Brooklyn Cyclones Honor European Baseball with Eastern European Day

On June 11th, the Brooklyn Cyclones, the High A affiliate of the New York Mets, hosted a remarkable event to celebrate and honor Eastern European culture while showing solidarity with the people of Ukraine.

The Eastern European Day event organized by the Brooklyn Cyclones garnered an impressive turnout, with over 4,700 people in attendance. Among them were over 1,000 Ukrainian newcomers who were provided with tickets, giving them an opportunity to enjoy a day at the ballpark.

The event was not just about baseball; it was a celebration of Eastern European culture and a platform to showcase the unity between diverse communities.

A total of 18 foundations, organizations, and services dedicated to helping people in Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees in New York were present, further highlighting the support and assistance offered to those in need.

The crowd paid tribute to US Army and Navy officers, Ukrainian soldiers, NYPD officers of Eastern European descent, and dozens of humanitarian volunteers.

Prior to the game between the Brooklyn Cyclones and the Greenville Drive, a concert by Eastern European musicians entertained the crowd.

The Brooklyn Cyclones, under the ownership of Steve Cohen, have shown exceptional support for the Ukrainian people. This Eastern European-themed game day marked the fourth event organized by the Brooklyn Cyclones to support Ukraine.

In the past, the team had hosted two themed games to raise awareness and funds for Ukraine, and they also extended their support by hosting Ukraine's baseball team on their field.

To conclude the Eastern European Day, the world's largest Ukrainian flag was rolled out on the field. This symbolic gesture represented unity, pride, and support for Ukraine, leaving a lasting impression on all those in attendance.
