Italy wins the U-22 Women's Softball European Championship 2022 topping Czech Republic, 2-3, in the Championship game in Kunovice, Czech Republic.

Italy is the U-22 Women's Softball European Championship for the second time in a row, after the 2018 victory in Trnava, Slovakia.

Championship game
The home team had the first occasion in the third with bases loaded and no outs but got on the board scoring in the fourth inning thanks to a long homerun by Eliška Slaninová.

In a very productive inning for Italy, the Azzurre scored three runs thanks to as many hits (Koutsoyanopulos, Princic, and Mambelli) and one error.

In the top of the sixth, Karolína Dvoráková was hit-by-pitch and scored thanks to Eliška Slaninová's double (2 on 3, 2 RBIs) taking the score to 2-3.

At the last chance for the Czechs, Adéla ŠIMŮNKOVÁ singled to left field with two outs, but the Italian squad managed to find the third out with a 1-3 play to claim the back-to-back European title.

Bronze Medal game
Five innings are enough for the Kingdom of the Netherlands to conquer the bronze medal of the U-22 Women's Softball European Championship.

The Dutch showed their power (9 total hits), scoring nine runs in the first two innings. The Spanish national squad did not give up and came back at the top of the fourth with four runs.

Nicky Uytendaal hit a long shot to right field, and Julia Kwakernaak reached home on a wild pitch to take the score to 11-4. This is also the final result of the game that gave the bronze medal to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and established the fourth spot for the Spanish squad in the final standings.
