Mariners Baseball Ireland (IRL) emerged victorious in the Swedish pool of Baseball European Federation Cup Qualifier 2023

The championship game of the Swedish pool of the Baseball European Federation Cup Qualifier took place against the home team, Sundbybergs BSC (SWE) and the Mariners Baseball Ireland (IRL). 

The Mariners started the game with an early advantage, taking the lead in the first inning. However, Sundbybergs turned the tables in the third inning, scoring two runs to seize the lead. Determined to secure victory, the Mariners swiftly responded by scoring four runs, ultimately emerging victorious with a final score of 5-2.

The tournament, which featured six teams, consisted of eleven games. The final standing of the qualifiers is as follows:

1. Mariners Baseball Ireland (IRL)
2. Sundbyberg Heat (SWE)
3. Beisbolo Klubas Vilnius (LTU)
4. Vålerenga Baseball (NOR)
5. London Capitals (GBR)
6. Espoo Expos (FIN)

This achievement has earned Ireland a place in the upcoming Baseball European Federation Cup, scheduled to take place in 2024.
