Women's Baseball European Championship postponed to 2025 following WBSC Calendar

WBSC Europe has announced the postponement of the Women's Baseball European Championship from 2024 to 2025 in accordance with the WBSC calendar.

The postponement decision of the Women's Baseball European Championship from 2024 to 2025 is part of the WBSC's efforts to implement a new two-stage format for the Women's Baseball World Cup, which will now take place every four years.

The Women's Baseball World Cup will now feature a two-stage tournament format, replacing the previous two-year cycle. The first stage, known as the Group Stage, will involve 12 National Teams, split into two groups at different host sites. Hosts have the opportunity to bid for and operate one group of the Women's Baseball World Cup.

The European Champion from the Women's Baseball European Championship will secure a spot in the World Cup's Group Stage through the Continental Qualifiers.

The last edition of the Women's Baseball European Championship took place in 2022 in Montpellier, France. The French national team has defended its title at the Women’s European Baseball Championship 2022, by defeating Czechia in the final. The Netherlands finished in third place in the final standings ahead of Great Britain in fourth.

In 2024, France will participate in the first stage of the IX Women's Baseball World Cup.
