WBSC Europe updates its branding

WBSC Europe released an updated brand that will better represent the disciplines of baseball, softball, and baseball5. This historic turn follows the merging of the governing bodies of baseball, softball, and baseball5 in Europe.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation Europe (WBSC Europe) updated its brand outlook to make its disciplines recognisable through its logos.

This update targets three goals:

  1. To give WBSC Europe a common brand identity as one organisation governing its disciplines in the European continent.
  2. To give WBSC Europe the needed elements to make its disciplines recognisable when seeing its new logos.
  3. To align WBSC Europe with the global WBSC brand as part of the worldwide organisation.

Two versions of the current WBSC Europe logos will be maintained and used in the future, and three new versions will be added. These new versions will be with the "BASEBALL SOFTBALL" text and with a home plate shape outline to help identify the WBSC Europe disciplines.

The Executive Board reviewed the proposal from the marketing department and approved the changes at its meeting in Sofia, Bulgaria, on November 19, 2022.

The logos are available on the WBSC Europe website.

WBSC Europe will publish an updated brand and logo guide in late January and distribute all new logos for National Federations to start using them immediately once made available.

After the 2023 Congress, WBSC Europe and its Member Federations will stop using the obsolete Baseball Europe, Softball Europe, CEB, and ESF logos as well as the WBSC Europe logo with the “GameTime” slogan.

Over the past five years, European baseball and softball governing bodies have transformed their structure. The Confederation of European Baseball (CEB) and the European Softball Federation (ESF) merged into the World Baseball Softball Confederation Europe to be better aligned with the global top organisation WBSC and drive its Olympic agenda for baseball, softball, and baseball5.

As part of this process, WBSC Europe has updated its brand outlook to meet today’s requirements, in cooperation and alignment with WBSC.
