The U-22 Women's Softball European Championship gets underway on Sunday

From Sunday, June 26, to Saturday, July 2, the seventh edition of the U-22 Women's Softball European Championship will take place in Kunovice and Brno, Czech Republic. Seventeen nation squads will take part in the competition and battle for the title of European Champion.

The U-22 Women's Softball European Championship is set to take place in Czech Republic, from June 26 to July 2, 2022. Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, and Ukraine will play for a full week on three fields of the Czech Zlín Region (how to get to the fields here).

The seventeen teams are divided into four pools. In total, seventy-one games will be played during the U-22 Women's Softball European Championship. In the first three days, 28 games are scheduled for the first round robin. The second round robin will take place From Wednesday until Friday.

The playball is set for Sunday, June 26, when the Czech squad will face France at 20:00, right after the opening ceremony scheduled for 18:00. 

The finals are programmed for Saturday, July 2, when the U-22 Women's Softball European Champion will be crowned. The Championship Game is set to start at 18:00.

In 2018, Italy won the title in Trnava, Slovakia, topping the Netherlands, 4-5.
The Italian manager Longnani declared: “(we are) going to Kunovice with the desire to win, but there are very competitive teams: Czech Republic, host, and winner of the U-18 European Championship last year, the Netherlands, Ireland, Great Britain, and Israel."

All the teams' rosters will be official after the technical meeting (planned for June 26 at 16:00) and then published on the U-22 Women's Softball European Championship website
