France and Türkiye qualified for the WBSC U-18 Baseball5 World Cup

The winners of the semifinals - France and Türkiye - will play the gold medal game at the U-17 Baseball5 European Championship. Being the top two finishers, France and Türkiye qualified for the first WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup, scheduled for 2023. Czech Republic and Lithuania will play for the Bronze medal.

France and Türkiye won the U-17 Baseball5 European Championship's semifinals to qualify for the WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup. Tomorrow they will face each other in the gold medal game in a best-of-five series.

France topped Lithuania (7-3;10-1) in the semifinal series. French Manager Lahcène Benhamida commented on the win: "we knew that Lithuania was very good. In the semifinals, they played very well both in defense and offense. But we succeeded, and we are very happy to be in the final tomorrow. We came to Sofia to become European Champions".

Türkiye defeated Czech Republic in two very close games (0-1; 0-1). The Manager of the team Tüzün Umut said: "we trained in Türkiye with the goal to qualify for the WBSC World Cup and develop the sport. We are one step away from our aim, which is winning the European Championship".

Czech Republic and Lithuania will play a best-of-five series aiming to win the bronze medal game at the inaugural U-17 Baseball5 European Championship.

In the top eight, Italy and Romania will play for the fifth position, Belgium and Netherlands for the seventh spot. Both positions on the final standings will be decided with a best-of-three series.

On field two, Greece will face Germany, Bulgaria will play against Latvia, and Israel against Moldova to define the spots from ninth to fourteenth.
