German Umpire in Chief Florian Lautenschläger has recently been appointed as a member of the WBSC Europe Softball Umpiring Committee. The Committee, led by Nacho Pardo, is responsible for promoting and developing umpiring standards across Europe.

Florian Lautenschläger (GER) becomes one of the four members of the WBSC Europe Softball Umpiring Committee, alongside WBSC Europe Director of Softball Umpires Nacho Pardo, and Umpires in Chiefs Hans Hornstra and Raoul Machalet.

The appointment is a recognition of Lautenschläger's contribution to the sport of softball. Lautenschläger has worldwide experience, having officiated at major international tournaments such as the Softball Canada Cup and the WBSC Junior Men's Softball World Cup.

Nacho Pardo, the chair of the Committee, said: "Florian is a great addition to the Softball Umpiring Committee. His experience and knowledge will be priceless as we continue working to develop umpiring standards in Europe."

The WBSC Europe Softball Umpiring Committee has recently organised the third WBSC Europe Softball Blue Convention in Sant Boi de Llobregat, Barcelona, Spain.

At the Blue Convention, Lautenschläger led two panels, "How to speed up games and why" and "Substitutions", sharing his knowledge with the European umpires present at the event.
