The Czech Republic for the first time in the history of the tournament and host and defending champion France will play in the final of the Women’s European Baseball Championship in Montpellier, France. Czechia rallied to beat the Netherlands 24-9 advancing to the final. France walked off in the bottom of the seventh 13-12 against Great Britain to reach the championship game. Prior to the last day of the preliminary round all four games were tied 1-1 in the standings, setting up the exciting finish.

Netherlands – Czech Republic 9-24 (Box score)

The Czech Republic reached the final at the Women’s European Baseball Championship with a 24-9 win over the Netherlands. After the Dutch team led 6-4 after the first inning and still were up 9-8 after four innings, Czechia scored seven runs in the fifth and nine in the six to run away with the victory and their first final appearance in the second edition of the tournament. Kristyna El Ghannam and Petra Kolkusova scored four runs apiece. Four players of Czechia collected three RBI each. Karolina Blazkova threw three innings of scoreless relief for the win. Nathalia Kimbella Schindeler scored twice and drove in two for the Dutch team.

France – Great Britain 13-12 (Box score)

Lena Sellam singled to right field with no outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning to lead France to a 13-12 walk-off victory against Great Britain, which played its first international women’s baseball event in federation history. In a back and forth battle, France scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth to erase a 6-12 deficit. The British team had taken a 9-5 lead with a six-run rally in the top of the third. They then went on to extend their advantage, but weren’t able to secure the upset win over the defending champion. Emma Patry scored three runs for the French team. Lena Sellam had two RBI. Amy Trasik went 3-for-4 with four RBI for GB.
