Florian Lautenschläger has been appointed as the new Director of Softball Umpires for the World Baseball Softball Confederation Europe. Former WBSC Europe Director of Softball Umpires Nacho Pardo will remain involved in the working group but stepped down as he assumed the role of WBSC Director of Softball Umpires.

The first round at the 2023 World Baseball Classic with thrilling games at the venues in Tokyo, Taichung, Miami and Phoenix is in the books. All the European participants, Italy, the Netherlands, Israel, Czech Republic and Great Britain were able to win at least one game to ensure qualification for the 2026 edition. Italy survived a crazy five-team tie to earn a spot in the quarterfinals and the top eight.

John Boyd (GBR), Elliot Fleys (FRA), and Bjørn Christian Thode (NOR) are the newly appointed members of the WBSC Europe Governance Department, led by Mette Nissen Jakobsen (DEN).

František Bunta (SVK) is the WBSC Europe Baseball Technical and Competitions Director starting December 2022. He will work closely with the WBSC Europe Baseball Vice President Petr Ditrich and manage the Baseball Competitions and Technical Committee, together with Stephan Lasfargues, Baseball Competition Chief.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation Europe (WBSC Europe) announced the 2023-2029 Baseball, Softball, and Baseball5 European Championships planning.

Thirty-one European Championships and Cups have been played so far in the 2022 baseball and softball season.

During the WBSC Europe General Congress, the WBSC Europe Baseball Commission handed the 2021 awards to the players, coaches, and officials. The WBSC Europe Softball Commission announced three inductees in its Hall of Fame. For the first time, the baseball and softball European awards were allocated at the same time and place.

The WBSC Europe General Congress elected the new Executive Board during the 2022 WBSC Europe Congress in the Austria Trend Hotel in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on February 12, 2022.

The fifth WBSC Europe General Congress will be held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from February 10 to 13, 2022. The 2022 WBSC Europe Congress will be Elective.
