Traditional host cities Prague, Gijón, and Stuttgart welcomed over 60 teams from 15 European countries for the PONY League European Zone qualifying tournaments, spanning age categories from Bronco U12 to Palomino U18. This confirms big progress within Europe since the PONY league first became involved in the continent with the Colt age group in 2001.
Teams representing Europe at the World Series in the USA include CBS Rivas (ESP), SBS Baseball Academy (ESP), Czech Baseball Academy (CZE), and Trnava Angels (SVK).
The World Series for Bronco and Palomino will take place from July 26 to 29 in Laredo, TX. The Colt World Series will be hosted in Marion, IL, from July 26 to 30. The Pony World Series will follow in Washington, PA, from August 9 to 14, the headquarters of the PONY League.
Jan Bagin, Director of the PONY League European Zone, expressed his excitement: "We look forward to the upcoming tournaments in the USA, especially as teams from Spain and Slovakia will be participating in the World Series for the first time since PONY League started its activities in Europe 25 years ago."
