Qualifiers for U-23 European Baseball Championships to be played this week in Utena and Ljubljana

The summer in European Baseball continues this week with a pair of qualifiers for next year’s U-23 European Baseball Championship. Utena, Lithuania is hosting Belgium, Israel, Lithuania, Poland and Switzerland, while Ljubljana, Slovenia will have Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia and Ukraine in its group.

The U-23 qualifier in Utena will take place from Sunday, August 7 to Friday, August 12. In the preliminary round two games will be played each day from Sunday to Thursday at 1pm and 5pm. The best two teams of the preliminary round will meet in the final on Friday at 4pm. The winner will qualify for the U-23 European Baseball Championship in 2023. Live streaming and live scoring will be available through www.wbsceurope.org.

The U-23 qualifier in Ljubljana commences on Monday, August 8 and will be played through Saturday, August 13. Each day during the first round games will be played at 10am, 1.30pm and 5pm with the top two teams meeting in the final on Saturday at 1.30 pm. Also the winner of the group in Ljubljana will advance to the U-23 European Baseball Championship in 2023. Live streaming will be available through the YouTube channel of Gorovec.
