The PALOMINO tournaments, scheduled to take place in Stuttgart, Germany, from May 1 to May 5, 2024, follow PONY's successful hosting of their junior events in Prague for U-14 Baseball, U-16 Baseball, and U-16 Softball in April 2024.
The PALOMINO U-18 Baseball tournament, which has been a fixture in Stuttgart since 2018, will feature six teams, including the host team Stuttgart REDS, Future Stars from the Netherlands, the Swiss national team, Baltic Amber (a selection from Lithuania and Belarus), Netherlands Baseball United, and Angels Trnava from Slovakia. The tournament kicks off on May 1 at 9:00 with a match between the hosts and the Future Stars, culminating in the final on Sunday, May 5 at 12 noon.
In a historic first, the Palomino Tournament will also feature a softball edition, showcasing top talent in the U-18 category. The participating teams include the German national team, Future Stars and Netherlands Softball United from the Netherlands, and Piranhas Beroun from the Czech Republic. The softball tournament begins on May 1 at 3:45 p.m. and concludes on May 4 at 6 p.m. with the championship game.
Abraham Key, President of PONY, expressed his excitement for the inaugural Palomino Girls Softball European Zone Championship in Stuttgart, highlighting the excellent facilities and the warm welcome from the Stuttgart Reds. Jan Bagin, Director of the PONY League European Zone, also expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming tournaments, emphasizing the growth of PONY in Europe.
PONY, which stands for "Protect Our Nation's Youth," provides children and young people worldwide with opportunities to compete at various levels, including the prestigious World Series held annually in the USA.
Pony League Baseball and Softball partnered with WBSC Europe for the European Zone Championships Tournaments, qualifiers for the Pony World Series.
