United States defeated Netherlands, 11-0, in the first game of the day in the WBSC Softball World Championship held in Chiba, Japan. The had two big innings to support a magnificent performance by Monica Abbot, who threw a no-no and was one walk away of perfection.

Italy proved a true competitor. The ‘azzurre’ took an early lead on o a couple of solo homers against Australia, that came from behind to win in extras. Canada beat Italy 1-0 to complete the Italians double header

Japan shuts out China, stays undefeated in group B of the Softball World Championship
Superstars Yamada and Ueno led Japan to a shut out won against China. In the morning game Outfielder Li Qi provided all the offense China needed against Great Britain’s Elizabeth Fleming and scored the winning run
Canada, Japan lead WBSC Softball World Championship Group B with two wins
Canada started the WBSC Women’s Softball World Championship with a pair of 7-0 victories over Great Britain and Venezuela. This way the red and white team is at the top of the standings in Group B, along with Japan, with two wins.

WBSC Women’s Softball World Championship Chiba 2018 officially opens
The Road to Tokyo 2020 has begun. Today the XVI WBSC Women’s Softball World Championship was officially declared open in Chiba, and from now 16 teams from five continents will try to earn the first berth in the Olympic Games.
