France collected its first victory of the WBSC Softball Europe/Africa Qualifier after a comfortable five-innings victory over Botswana, 11-2. Kimane Rogron led the French offense with 3 hits. Pitcher Sarah Benchali got the win, Seth Onnetse the loss.

Today was held in Utrecht the first day of competition of the WBSC Softball Europe/Africa. Great Britain, Italy, Czech Republic and host Netherlands won their games at Sportpark Paperclip and will play the second day of the tournament with winning record.

The hosts, and defending European Champions, the Netherlands defeated a Collegiate Japanese selection in the final to claim the XVII edition’s trophy. The Dutch are the Europe/Africa favourites for a spot in the Olympis
