National Championships: Saronno dominates the Italian Women's Softball winning both trophies at stake

In 2022, Saronno won the Women's Softball Italian national title and national cup after winning previously the Women's Softball European Cup Winners Cup A in Viladecans, Spain.

In 2022, Saronno dominated the Italian women's softball scene winning within a few weeks both the Italian Softball League and the Italian Cup.

To win the first title of its history, Saronno topped 3-0 Bollate in the Italian Softball Series.

In game one, Saronno took the lead in the first when Rotondo scored on an error by the defense. Bollate's ace Elisa Cecchetti homered twice, once in the first inning and once in the third inning, to regain the lead, 1-2. In the fifth, Saronno's Lozada also sent one over the fence for a two-run homerun, taking the game result to 3-2, but Bollate with an immediate reaction went on top again, 3-4. On the sixth, Saronno scored three more runs to take it to 6-4. Bollate scored once more to take the final result to 6-5, not enough to take the first win of the series, taken by Saronno.

Game two is also taken by Saronno, 1-0, thanks to a shoutout of the Saronno's pitcher Handley. The Women's Softball Cup Winners Cup champions scored once in the fourth: with one out, Rotondo singled and reached home thanks to the hit of the Italian national team captain Longhi.

One week later, Saronno topped Bollate in game three, 6-8, to win the series and claim their first national title in history.

In the final four of the Italian Cup, Saronno topped the Blue Girls Bologna in the semifinal, 0-1, and Caronno defeated Bollate, 5-4, to access the championship game.
Saronno won a very balanced final of the Italian Cup against Caronno, winning the game 1-0.

Saronno concludes a season to remember collecting three titles: the Cup Winners Cup, the Italian Championship, and the Italian Cup.
