National Championships: Joudrs Praha and Locos Břeclav crowned 2022 Czech softball champions

In Czechia, the Joudrs Praha triumphed in the 2022 women's softball national league and the Locos Břeclav won the 2022 men's softball national title.

Czech Women's Softball Extra League
After winning the regular season with an impressive record of 26 wins and only 2 losses, the Joudrs Praha faced the Eagles Prague in the semifinal series. In the best-of-five series, Eagles Prague managed to get one win against Joudrs Praha, capable of winning three games and the series.

In the other semifinal, Tempo Prague defeated the Arrows Ostrava with a record of 3W-0L to access the Czech women's softball finals.

In the championship series, Joudrs Praha took on Tempo Prague and won three games in a row to be crowned Czech national champions for the 9th time in the club's history, ending a phenomenal season with only three losses.

Two of the key players of this success are Klimplová and Furková, infielders for the Joudrs Praha and two of the best hitters in the Czech League.

Previously, the Joudrs Praha took part in the Women's Softball European Premier Cup and placed fifth among the best clubs in Europe.

Czech Men's Softball Extra League
The Locos Břeclav dominated the Czech Men's Softball Extra League. Ace pitchers Holobradek and Osicka and a great offense led the team to the 2022 Czech title.

Despite the absence of some key players missing part of the season to play in the United States at the ISC tournament, the Locos Břeclav stayed in the run for playoffs and finished the season with a 15W-3L record.

In the semifinals, the Locos topped Spectrum Praha winning three games in a row to access the final series.

Meanwhile, Painbusters Most led by the brother duo Adam and Vojtech Buchner, achieved the feat to overturn the other semifinal: with the Joudrs Praha leading the best-of-five series with two wins, the Painbusters Most won three games in a row to access the final for the first time ever.

In the Czech Men's Extraleague Championship Series, the Painbusters Most took the lead winning game one, 0-4, but the Locos Břeclav reacted and left no opportunities for the opponent winning three games (7,0; 6-0; 3-0) to become Czech national champions.

This success is particularly important as the Locos Břeclav are a fairly debuting team; they only played in the Men’s Extraleague for four years and already got three medals: silver in 2019, bronze in 2021, and crowned the journey with the 2022 gold.

Back in the summer, the Locos Břeclav participated in the Men's Softball European Super Cup ranking fourth.
