National Championships: Janossomorja Rascals win the Hungarian Softball League

In 2022, the Janossomorja Rascals won the Hungarian Softball League. The team also took part in the Central Europe Women’s Softball Euroleague.

After last year’s silver medal, the Janossomorja Rascals made it to the finals again in 2022. The Rascals faced the Érd Wildcats in a best-of-five series to define the Hungarian Champions.

Both teams won one game at home and one away, taking the series to the fifth and decisive game. Game one finished 11-4 and game two 8-9. The result of game three was 12-10, and the one of game four was 10-18.

Rascals’ pitcher Anna Fekete dominated the game (5IP, 1H, 5K, 3BB, 1ER), and the team did an outstanding job by supporting her with great additional defense.

In the fifth inning, the Rascals were leading with a score of 3-1. They scored five more times to take the result to 8-1 and win the series. The 2022 title is the first one for Jánossomorja in the history of Hungarian softball.

In 2022 the Rascals took part in the Central Europe Women’s Softball Euroleague as newcomers. The young team won two games, ranking 6th.
