Growing the Game: Czech Schools Host Baseball Tournaments Through National Project

The "Czech Plays Baseball: Baseball to Schools" project, partially funded by WBSC Europe, is an inspiring development initiative taking place across multiple cities in the Czech Republic, including Prague, Brno, Orlová, Opava, Zlín, Třebíč, Bučovice, and Plzeň.

The project "Czech Plays Baseball: Baseball to Schools" aims to introduce baseball to young students in 1st and 2nd grades by incorporating the sport into their school activities.

The project began on May 27th and included a series of events on June 3rd, 7th, 12th, 21st, 24th, and 27th. Upcoming events are scheduled for September 12th and 17th. Each participating club engaged with local schools, demonstrating the basics of baseball through a simplified version known as beeball. Following these school visits, the clubs invited the students to their fields to participate in organized tournaments.

The project culminated in final tournaments held at the fields of the Czech clubs involved, where students showcased their newly acquired skills. This initiative not only promotes baseball but also fosters community engagement and provides a foundation for the sport's future growth in the Czech Republic.
