EuroSoftball 2024: 22 Teams Compete for the Title of European Champion

The Women's Softball European Championship 2024 is set to start on September 1st in Utrecht, Netherlands.

A total of 22 teams are participating in the Women's Softball European Championship 2024, organized into six groups. The tournament features 89 games across four fields: two at UVV in Utrecht, one at Centrals/Wombats, and one at Nieuwegein Diamonds.

The tournament format has the top eight teams from the previous championship—Czechia, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Great Britain, Greece, Israel, and Italy—automatically placed in the Super Round Groups X and Y.

The remaining teams are divided into 4 groups and compete in a single round-robin. Group A consists of France, Switzerland, and Denmark. Group B includes Poland, Belgium, and Malta. Group C features Slovakia, Ukraine, Finland, and Bulgaria. Lastly, Group D is composed of Croatia, Austria, Sweden, and Hungary.

The winners of these groups will move on to the Groups X and Y to face the top teams.

The championship kicks off with the opening ceremony at 20:00 on Sunday, September 1st.

Fans are encouraged to secure their tickets soon, as availability is limited.

The top finishers from 2022 remain the favorites in the Women's Softball European Championship 2024. The Netherlands are strong contenders after securing fourth place at the WBSC World Cup just a month ago. Great Britain is boosted by their pitching ace, Georgia Corrick, who finished fourth in the Athletes Unlimited season in 2024. Italy, who placed eighth at the World Cup, aims to improve their performance and earn a medal. Czechia is also looking to compete for a podium finish.

Games of the Women's Softball European Championship 2024 can be watched live on softballeurope.tv. The tournament pass is available at €29.99, while a single game is €7.99. Live play-by-play is available through the WBSC Europe website.
