Czechia, Germany meet in Baseball Exhibition Series this coming weekend

The men’s baseball national teams from Czechia and Germany will meet in a three-game exhibition series from August 16 to 18 at the ballparks of Trebic Nuclears, Eagles Praha and Tempo Praha in Czechia. The WBSC Europe sanctioned event is providing playing time for the two programs in a year without major European and international competitions.

Czechia is currently ranked in 15^th place in the KONAMI WBSC Men’s Baseball World Ranking, while Germany is 17^th. Both teams are familiar foes in European baseball, having met multiple times in the last few years.

In 2019 Czechia edged out Germany 4-3 in the game for fifth place at the Baseball European Championship to earn a spot in the Olympic Qualifier. At the 2022 World Baseball Classic Qualifier Czechia beat Germany on its way to the main tournament.

Last year at the 2023 Baseball European Championship both teams didn’t meet. Most recently at the Prague Baseball Week Czechia beat Germany twice 4-3 and 7-6 in a pair of close encounters. Now Germany wants to have revenge in the three-game set.

On Friday Czechia and Germany are squaring off in Trebic at 19:00. On Saturday at the Eagles field in Praha they again will play at 19:00. On Sunday the two teams close out the series at 13:00 at Tempo ballpark in Praha.
