Apollo wins the 7th Central Europe Women’s Softball Euroleague

Apollo Bratislava (SVK) wins the 2022 Central Europe Women’s Softball Euroleague. Princ Zagreb (CRO) took the silver medal while Trnava Panthers Softball (SVK) won the bronze medal. Seven teams took part in the league playing over 30 games in three countries.

The seventh Central Europe Women’s Softball Euroleague came to an end after 33 games played by seven teams: Apollo Bratislava (SVK), Budapest Red Wolves (HUN), Jánossomorja Rascals (HUN), Lady Pirates (CRO), Medvednica (CRO), Princ Zagreb (CRO), Trnava Panthers Softball (SVK).

From March to September 2022, four weekends of games took place in Croatia, Hungary, and Slovakia.

The top 4 teams - Trnava Panthers Softball (SVK), Apollo Bratislava (SVK), Medvednica (CRO), and Princ Zagreb (CRO) - played over the weekend in Trnava, Slovakia.

Apollo Bratislava (SVK) and Princ Zagreb (CRO) played the gold medal game. Apollo topped the Croatians 14-1 to win the 2022 Central Europe Women’s Softball Euroleague.
The home team, Trnava Panthers Softball (SVK), won the bronze medal and Medvednica (CRO) closed the top 4 at the fourth spot.

In Budapest, Hungary, Jánossomorja Rascals (HUN), Lady Pirates (CRO), and Budapest Red Wolves (BUL) played to define the final standings from the fifth to the seventh position.

The Lady Pirates (CRO) won most games to rank fifth, followed by Budapest Red Wolves (BUL) and the Jánossomorja Rascals (HUN).

Petra Cizmic Pokrajac, who leads this project with great enthusiasm, said: "I hope all the teams had a great time in the 2022 Euroleague. I consider it very successful: we had seven teams, thirty-three games, and three countries. I want to thank all the partecipants and organisers!".

The Softball Euroleague is a fastpitch competition for women and juniors played at cross border regional level. It was played in Central Europe for six years in a row from 2014 to 2019 and then suffered a two-year break in 2020 and 2021.
