History
The Hellenic Amateur Baseball Federation (HABF) was established in 1997. The founding members wanted to develop the sport of baseball in Greece so that the 2004 Athens Olympic Games would include a team from the host country. The HABF had the moral and financial support of the Greek Ministry of sports, which financed the construction of baseball facilities, financed the organization of a Greek Baseball League, and financed the participation of Greece in all International tournaments for which the team was able to qualify.
