History
The Bulgarian Baseball and Softball Federation was founded in late 1988, several months after, the first Baseball Softball Club - Akademiks - was established on March 31, 1988, followed by other clubs in Sofia, Pernik, Dupnitza, Stara Zagora and Blagoevgrad (Atletik, Pernik 1, Devils, Buffaloes and Warriors).
The first baseball championship was organized in 1990 and the first softball championship - in 1993.
In 1998, following the directions of Ministry of sports, Bulgarian Baseball Softball Federation was devided into two separate federations who started managing baseball and softball individualy.
In 2020 the Bulgarian Softball Federation & Bulgarian Baseball federation have merged again into Bulgarian Baseball and Softball Federation.
Right now BBSF has 11 club members from Sofia, Dupnitza, Blagoevgrad, Kozlodui and Razgrad.
