Netherlands Clinch Bronze at Home with 8-2 Victory Over Czechia

The Dutch team took control in the second inning, scoring three runs. Wissink tripled to set the stage, and Ytendaal followed with a single to bring Wissink home for the first run. Beers then delivered a clutch 2-RBI single, extending the lead to 3-0.

The Netherlands extended their lead in the fourth inning with another three runs, bringing the score to 6-0. Two runs crossed the plate due to a fielding error, and Van Dalen added another run with an RBI single.

Czechia added a run in the sixth inning when Furková singled to center field, driving in Molentová for the team's first RBI. Later in the inning, Michaela Pecková contributed another RBI with a single to left-center, allowing Stejskalová to score, bringing the score closer.

The Dutch extended their lead in the bottom of the sixth inning with two more runs. Van Dalen doubled to right-center, bringing in Oosting for an RBI. Shortly after, Wissink singled to left field, allowing Van Dalen to score and pushing the lead to 8-2.

In the top of the seventh, two flyouts and a fielder’s choice sealed the game, securing an 8-2 victory for the Dutch.

The winning pitcher for the Netherlands was starter J'dah Girigorie, while Eva Voortman earned the save.

With this win, the Netherlands secured the bronze medal. This marks the first time since 2005 that the Dutch did not compete in the gold medal game.

Czechia finished in fourth place, matching their performance from 2022 in Sant Boi, Spain.
