U-12 Baseball European Championship 2024 in Paderborn takes place next week

The eight teams are slotted into two groups during the preliminary round, which will be played from Tuesday to Thursday. Host Germany, Czechia, France and Ukraine feature Group A. Austria, Italy, Lithuania and the Netherlands are forming Group B. Four games will be played each day at 10:30, 13:00, 15:30 and 18:00 with Germany highlighting the evening portion of the schedule.

Germany is entering the U-12 Baseball European Championship as the defending champion, having won the U-12 Baseball European Championships in both in 2022 and 2023. Overall, they have won three U-12 titles since 2016. At the all-time leaderboard Czechia and Italy share first place with nine titles each ahead of Russia (6) and the Netherlands (3).

Following the preliminary round the top two teams of each Group qualify for the semi-finals on Friday. The Gold Medal Game is scheduled for Saturday, July 6 at 18:00. Entrance to the games at the Ahorn-Ballpark is going to be free. All games will be played at the state-of-the-art youth baseball field with artificial surface of the Untouchables Paderborn, which has been inaugurated in 2022.

As usual for U-12 Baseball European Championship it will be an open competition with a wide variety of favorites to win it all. Obviously host and defending champion Germany wants to repeat its medal run. But Czechia, Italy, Netherlands and France also hope to reach the podium in the end with surprise performances by Austria, Lithuania and Ukraine always possible.
