Sant Boi and Viladecans to Host Softball European Masters Cups: WBSC Europe, RFEBS, and the Local Clubs Secure Hosting Agreement for three years

WBSC Europe accepted the bid of the Real Federación Española de Béisbol y Sófbol (RFEBS) and the Spanish clubs CBS Sant Boi and CB Viladecans to host the Softball European Masters Cups for the next three years.

The Softball European Masters Cups will take place in October 2024, 2025, and 2026 in the cities of Sant Boi and Viladecans, located near Barcelona, Spain.

Gabriel Waage, WBSC Europe Softball Vice President, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, "I am satisfied with the cooperation with RFEBS and the clubs Sant Boi and Viladecans for the next three years. This partnership sends a strong message to our community, demonstrating our commitment to stabilizing our events and the Masters, much like we successfully did with the EMRYT in 2022."

RFEBS President Lisarri expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I’m thrilled to bring the Master40 back to Spain for a new chapter, in collaboration with WBSC Europe and in partnership with CBS Sant Boi and CB Viladecans. We are dedicated to the growth and expansion of both men's and women's softball in Spain and Europe and are confident in the event's organizational success.”

The Women's and Men's Softball European Masters Cups, which debuted in 2019, are designed to keep the softball community active and to involve athletes over forty years old from across Europe who may have previously retired. The event has consistently been held in Barcelona, benefiting from favorable weather conditions that allow for late-season play.

Entries for the 2024 Softball European Masters Cups will open on Tuesday, May 21. Each affiliated federation of WBSC Europe may enter a maximum of two teams into each division of the ESMC. Teams must be nominated and approved by their respective affiliated federations.

The first team proposed by each federation on an official entry form will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, up to a maximum of eight teams per division. Any second team nominated will be placed in a reserve division in order of receipt. Following the entry deadline, second teams will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis to fill any remaining slots up to the division's maximum of eight teams.

All the rules can be found in the Specific Event Regulations.
