Women's Softball European Premier Cup 2023: day two recap

On field two in Legnano at the Women's Softball European Premier Cup, Olympia Haarlem from the Netherlands demonstrated their dominance with an impressive victory over Chicaboo's Stabroek from Belgium, securing a commanding 26-1 triumph in just three innings.

Following suit, Tex Town Tigers, also representing the Netherlands, defeated Les Pharaons from France with a convincing score of 17-1.

Rivas Madrid from Spain won against the Chicaboo's Stabroek, securing a substantial victory with a scoreline of 13-0.

Meanwhile, at Saronno's field one, Rivas Madrid from Spain triumphed over the Wittenbach Panthers from Switzerland with the score of 10-0.

The Bonn Capitals from Germany won over the Vienna Wanderers from Austria, securing a remarkable score of 9-2. Joudrs Praha from the Czech Republic succumbed to Olympia Haarlem from the Netherlands, with a final score of 1-10.

In the night game, Saronno from Italy emerged victorious over Les Pharaons from France, concluding with a scoreline of 8-1.

As for the group standings, in Group A, Olympia Haarlem from the Netherlands currently leads with an impressive record of 3-0. Following closely behind is Rivas Madrid from Spain, boasting a record of 2-1. Joudrs Praha from the Czech Republic holds the third position with a record of 1-1, while the Wittenbach Panthers from Switzerland stand at one win and two losses. Chicaboo's Stabroek from Belgium rounds up the group, still in search of their first win.

In Group B, the Bonn Capitals from Germany command the standings with an impeccable record of 3-0. Saronno from Italy and Tex Town Tigers from the Netherlands share the second position, both with a record of 2-1. The Vienna Wanderers from Austria currently hold the fourth position, while Les Pharaons from France find themselves in the fifth position.

Due to the ongoing heatwave in Italy, the WBSC Europe Softball Technical Commissioner, in collaboration with the Local Organizing Committee, has taken steps to reschedule tomorrow's games. This measure aims to ensure the safety of the players and officials by allowing the matches to be played during cooler hours. The revised schedule can be found on the official WBSC Europe website.
