Schedule announced for the Men's Softball European Super Cup

The World Baseball Softball Confederation European (WBSC Europe) unveiled the schedule for the 2022 Men's Softball European Super Cup. The event is set to take place in Prague, Czech Republic, on four fields in the area of the Czech Capital.

The Super Cup is set to start on Monday, August 22, when the German National Team will face the Belgium Quick Amersfoort on field one. On field two, the defending champion Hurricanes will face the Montpellier's Barracudas from France, and the Oslo Alligators will play against the Czech Junior National Team on the third field. The nineteen teams will then take the field during the opening ceremony, scheduled on Joudrs Praha field at 19:00.

The squads have been divided into four pools:

• The European Super Cup Champions Hurricanes will play in pool A, together with Quick Amersfoort (NED), Montpellier Barracudas (FRA), Locos Breclav (CZE), and the German National Team. 
• Chomutov Beavers (CZE), Joudrs Praha (CZE), Vennep Flyers (NED), BC Contois (FRA), and Stags (GBR) will battle in Pool B.
• Magos de Tenerife (ESP), the U-23 Czech national squad, Zagreb Giants (CRO), Chicaboo's (BEL), and Oslo Alligators (NOR) are assigned to pool C.
• Zraloci Ledenice (CZE), Brasschaat Braves (BEL), MRKI Medvedi (CRO), and Stenlase Bulls (DEN) will play in pool D.

After three days of battling in the round-robin, the teams will be divided into Super Cup and Softball Europe Cup according to the corresponding standing. The Super Cup finals will occur on Joudrs Field on Saturday, August 27. On the same day, the Softball Europe Cup finals are set to place on Eagles Praha field.

In 2021, the Hurricanes Hørsholm Von Holmbäck from Denmark conquered the Super Cup title, topping the Žraloci Ledenice (CZE), 2-10. In the Softball Europe Cup, the Joudrs Praha (CZE) defeated the Quick Amersfoort (NED), 1-0, in the final game.
