Lithuania secures a spot in 2024 WBSC World Cup alongside France

The win against Spain on Saturday morning not only propelled Lithuania into the Gold Medal Game of the Baseball5 European Championship 2023 but also earned them a ticket to the WBSC World Cup.

This achievement holds particular significance for Lithuania, as the European Championship is taking place on their home soil, offering the team the opportunity to compete in front of their supporters.

France had already booked their place in the WBSC World Cup yesterday.

Later today, France and Lithuania will compete for the European Championship title at the Gold Medal Game of the Baseball5 European Championship 2023.

The Lithuania Team conveyed that qualifying for the World Cup at home is a momentous honor, a culmination of extensive effort and dedication. The team's pursuit of this goal is evident in their commitment to the sport, as Lithuania currently boasts two Baseball5 leagues within the nation — a junior league catering to players under the age of 15 (U-15) and a senior league. The 2023/2024 season is just ten days away.

Lithuania is currently ranked 10th in the world and took part in the inaugural Baseball5 World Cup in November 2022 in Ciudad de Méxic, Mexico.
