Dornbirn Indians win Baseball European Federation Cup 2023

The Dornbirn Indians dominated the Baseball European Federation Cup final with an 11-1 victory over the Deurne Spartans. The Indians took a quick 6-0 lead after only three frames. They continued to score afterwards and won by ten-run rule in the eighth inning. Graeham Lutter went 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in the game.

Ferdinand Obed and Shotaro Usui scored thrice for Dornbirn. The Spartans managed just one run by Nando Mostaert in the seventh. Otherwise the pitching from Lochlan Southee, Ryan Rupp and Kruno Gojkovic was in full control of the game.

Dornbirn already marched through the preliminary round in dominant fashion, winning the first four games before losing the fifth match on Friday after they already had qualified for the final.

The Deurne Spartans won four of five games as well during the first round to join the Indians in the final. BioTexCom KNTU, Zurich Challengers, Rättvik BSK and Apollo Bratislava finished third, fourth, fifth and sixth in the final standings.
